LIVE, LAUGH, CREATE is a body of work exploring the relationship between cultural memory, bodily identity and personal expression. Rooted in my interest in African cultural practices, the series takes scarification as its point of departure, considering the human body as a surface upon which histories, values and identities can be inscribed, preserved and reinterpreted.
Drawing inspiration from the visual rhythms and graphic qualities of African textiles, these abstract elements become a space for experimentation. They also incorporate fragments of my inner monologues: spontaneous thoughts and  impressions
